Hotel Berg Oybin in Oybin

We visited this hotel in early 2020. The reception was friendly and we were informed in detail about the special features. We saw the Corona measures as particularly successful. Breakfast was served at the table after ordering the evening before. It was very good and sufficient. We can highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back again. Another note for railway fans that the hotel is located directly at the Oybin train station.

The hotel itself is very good, the staff is very friendly and helpful. It is in a very good location right at the train station where the beautiful old locomotive drives. But what you don't hear in the hotel room. The breakfast takes getting used to, where you have to pay for everything separately, but it is a good holiday so you shouldn't always pay attention to every penny

As trained Berliners, we were looking for the sources of the Spree. Sometimes we found what we were looking for in Ebersbach. Once in the southeast of our country we drove further into the Zittau Mountains. A very nice area but the weather didn't cooperate anymore. We wanted to strengthen ourselves for the return trip to Berlin and choose a route for the return trip. That is one of the reasons why we stopped at the "costBAR" bistro in the Hotel Am Berg Oybin. We were very pleasantly surprised. The entire ambience was not just "fast food". It was cozy and despite the weather, the view of nature and the train station was worthwhile. The former station hotel became Am Berg Oybin. We were served very friendly and our return trip planning was even professionally supported by the head of the house. Due to the restrictions caused by Corona, we had concerns about driving through the Czech Republic on the motorway to Dresden. We got excellent route planning from the boss and got from Germany to Germany without any difficulties. Thank you very much for the hospitality and the additional services

Unfortunately I can only give 5 stars although I would love to give more. Super nice and friendly. Room very clean. Breakfast very rich and delicious. We will definitely be back.

Spontaneous arrival worked out well at a later time, everyone was nice, delicious breakfast. Gladly again. Corona was taken seriously.

Beautiful landscape (great view), unfortunately little to eat in the area except for takeaways and cafés for day visitors and visitors, but the hotel itself does little for that. At least one could give us a good recommendation for the surrounding places on site. I also have to praise the breakfast and the service, they also try to avoid food waste with parts lists for breakfast every day. I have to subtract one star because there are no opportunities to sit together inside in the evening (dining rooms locked), perhaps due to Corona requirements. You can sit outside, but there is only one lamp on the wall of the house and when it is dark it is only enough to illuminate the entrance, after nightfall it is already vinegar with board games for four. There would be another star deduction for the very small room (the corner rooms seem to be smaller) with youth hostel charm and unfortunately a sharp (I suspect chlorine or bleach) smell, a towel holder or dryer would be great. After all, the small bathroom was very clean and the service in the hotel was very good, together with the location makes a lot of it good. To come back to eat: we were only there three evenings, from Sunday to Wednesday mornings. We were admittedly only four out of five possible restaurants (one was already completely closed, probably because of Corona) and after a long wait we found out that one was already fully booked for dinner and of course nothing more within two days. For vegetarians: all restaurants in Oybin within walking distance specialize in traditional Saxon or German meat cuisine (schnitzel up and down in all variations, steak and a fish dish), as vegetarian dishes there are the typical two fig leaves: salad with wild vegetables or bread with feta cheese . A snack bar offers two vegetarian pizzas until 5 p.m., one with cheese only, the other with corn and broccoli. So we unfortunately had to get into the car and drive to the nearest towns to have dinner.

Were to eat here, bistro menu is sufficient, the food is very good, small snacks and meals can be enjoyed here with super friendly service ...

Small hotel, very well located. Very friendly staff, big and delicious breakfast. Rooms are clean and quite big enough. Everything is very clean. Completely okay in terms of price.

Very nice, small but comfortable hotel right next to the station, which was a big advantage for us. We came to take pictures of steam trains and this place is perfect for this purpose. We were a little annoyed by the absence of the reception upon arrival, but we were used to issuing the keys from the password box from other trips. We did not use the restaurant, so we can not evaluate, but the hotel room was cozy, well heated and everything was needed. We recommend!

The room was very clean and well heated. Breakfast delicious and prepared with love. The hotel is an absolute must for friends of narrow-gauge railway, because right next to the train station.

I have been to this hotel at least 4 times. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean. A cot was always provided for my child with a proper mattress and pillow. The breakfast is very varied, there is a plentiful selection of sausage, cheese, spreads, vegetables, fruit, cornflakes, eggs, juices and coffee (a coffee machine also makes milk coffee). The location is a dream you look directly on the rocks (at least we always had a room with a rock view). There are many hiking trails and lots of playgrounds for children. The narrow-gauge railway starts right at the hotel. I will gladly come again.

The hotel is located in a beautiful little town, which is a great starting point for hikes (castle and monastery, Hochwaldbaude, Hochwaldturm, Scharfenstein and others). The room was comfortable and clean, the owners nice and accommodating, breakfast delicious.

Clean and well equipped rooms (Sky, Wlan), friendly staff, rich breakfast buffet and for us important, garaging for motorcycles !! The place itself is a good starting point for tours in the 🇨🇿. Always happy!

Nice hotel right on the train station, which is a special positive feature for the railway fan. The room was very nice clean and friendly furnished with a view of the mountain Oybin and parts of the train station, as well as on the place. The firm comfortable mattresses helped to a good and restful sleep. Every day the room and bathroom were cleaned and the bed was addressed. Minibar is located outside the room in the hallway and offers a range of wines, beers and soft drinks for moderate prices. The breakfast buffet is available for 10 euros per person / day extra. It is worth it .. Fresh bread and rolls, a selection of sausage / cheese but also cereal or corn flakes. Div. Juices and a range of fruit are always freshly refilled. Mirrors or stirrers (with or without bacon) are freshly cooked to order. Staff are very attentive and helpful. We had a very nice stay and will be back.

In an idyllic location, very nice surroundings. Room very small and especially the carpet is already very old. No more hospitality in the evening, too bad, a cozy little beer garden is available. Staff very friendly and accommodating. WLAN cumbersome with individual accesses. But still always happy here.
